Liz Steel and Marc Taro Holmes initiated a fun challenge to sketch, paint or draw a hundred people in a week. The 2026 challenge ran from 9th-13th March (yes, I know, 5 days ! 😂) Anyhoo, here's my 100 (or so) people in urban sketch style line and wash, all in a 12x12cm sketchbook. Two 'brush only' selfies are in the mix 😃

Ignore the number, ignore the dates, and have a go - it's surprisingly good fun and fills lots of odd moments in your day.

=113, I think, not counting background 'scenery' figures. 😄

What fun, Danny. I love your line drawings and how you colour them. The faces have so much character, do they take you long?

Thanks so much, Polly! 😄 They don't take long, I just 'go for it' with a pen and take what I get. Sketches like the people on benches might take me 20 minutes or so to draw and 5 minutes to colour.
